G.E.S.P.E.R. = Green Energy Surge Protection & Energy Reducer

The GESPER Systems, through the utilization of a combination of thermal metal oxide varistors, capacitors, and proprietary knowledge, work to become a whole building power conditioner. This unit has the highest rated ETL/ UL approved surge protector (ETL Tested UL 1449 3rd Edition, Type 4 SPD, ETL Tested VPR Rated 1200 Volts 100KA RMS SCCR Rating), Power Factor optimizer, and harmonic filter. GESPER units are installed on the main panels and sub-panels as well as “boosters” that are installed on motor components, such as AC units or large motors.

Why Gesper?

  • Highest surge protection rating achievable in the United States
  • NASA advised development via 2006 S.A.T.O.P. At the time GESPER was the only company to receive a second session from NASA
  • Extends the life of equipment
  • Reduced maintenance cost
  • Typical 12-24 month ROI
  • Backed by a $2,000,000 product liability policy and 10 year warranty
  • Panel by panel sizing methodology vs. main panel or “one size fits all”
  • Redundant surge protection for all three phases
  • Harmonic smoothing of incoming power

Not “Black Box” Technology

The GESPER uses a proprietary process, with proven technology from capacitors and a military grade board of thermal metal coated oxide varistors resulting in cleaner energy (power conditioning), increased power factor, harmonic filtering, and reduction in kWH, watts, and amps, while still maintaining volts.

The varistors have redundancy for each of the three phases, are Arc Flash Compliant, disengage to clear the circuits, and can be easily replaced after being tripped. GESPER has the highest rated ETL/UL approved surge protector (ETL Tested UL 1449 3rd Edition, Type 4 SPD, ETL Tested VPR Rated 1200 Volts 100KA RMS SCCR Rating). GESPER units are installed on a panel by panel basis as well as “boosters” that cab ne installed on motor components, such as AC units or large motors

Electricity Supply Structure

WEC will conduct an electricity supply analysis for all customer facilities in deregulated states to assure the supply is properly structured to maximize the benefits for Gesper Systems. The analysis will include:

  • Contract analysis

  • If contract modification is needed, WEC will engage in discussions with current supplier to review best options:

    • ETP analysis

    • Blend and Extend options

    • Restructure existing agreement with Cap-X

  • Multi-facility volume aggregation and contract ending date alignment

  • Forward purchasing strategy engagement

Case Study Results

  • Using thermal metal oxide varistors, capacitors, and proprietary technology co-developed with NASA the GESPER improves harmonics, balances voltage, improves power factor, and reduces required current to provide harmonic factoring
  • Power conditioning to help motors and electronic components operate with improved efficiencies

  • Lowering operating temperatures to improve the longevity of equipment life which, in turn, reduces replacement and maintenance costs

  • Extending the economic life of motors, appliances, and lighting

  • Line protection from lightning strikes and electric spikes
